Jackie has moved to Raleigh to live with her brother because she had a fall from grace – lost her boyfriend and lost her job. The last thing she needed was another complication – another boyfriend. Colby is the newest member of the Carolina Surge hockey team. He is known as the team agitator. One of his teammates is Jackie’s brother, who he doesn’t get along with at all. Their feelings for each other grow stronger the more time they spend with each other. However, there are two problems – Jackie’s brother, and her past comes back to haunt her.
I am in love with this book and with Jackie and Colby. I think one of the reasons that I love this book so much is that is really is realistic. Yes, Jackie and Colby fall for each other, but they are both not without complications, they are both not without a history that is effecting them presently. There is also a spicy scene that has a ton of laughs in it, and that felt so real to me.
I enjoyed watching Jackie put her life back together and become wiser after what she had been through. I especially enjoyed seeing the two sides to Colby – the hockey player agitator and the sweet guy who has a foundation for disabled children.
There were so many moments in this book that I had a smile on my face and warm feeling in my heart. There were also some moments where I said to myself – “oh no, they have to figure this out.” I can’t wait to read more in this series!
