Many thanks to Booksparks for the gifted copy of this book!

Delilah Spencer is an attorney at a Chicago law firm. She travels around to other states and helps out other lawyers. This time she finds herself in Sunflower, Montana. Ranger Beckham has lived his whole life in Sunflower. He’s the school’s band director and does some work on his parent’s farm. He’s fresh out of marriage to his best friend, a marriage that was in name only. Delilah has one rule when she goes to a new town to help out – don’t get attached. There is chemistry between Delilah and Ranger, so they enter a friends with benefits situation so that when she leaves, they can remain friends. After spending time together for months, Delilah starts to find it hard to imagine leaving Ranger. Will she break her rules and put down roots?

This is really a heartwarming book. It’s the first book in the series, and I really, really enjoyed it. One of the things that I really loved about this book was how welcoming the town was. Between all of the people that lived there, Ranger and his friends (even his ex), and Ranger’s parents, they made it seem like it was the best place to live. Speaking of people, I really enjoyed the relationship between Ranger and his ex wife. Yes, they divorced, but they were still really good friends and she encouraged him to find real love.

Another aspect of this book I really loved was that there was no miscommunication. Yes, there were obstacles, but Delilah was very clear about what she wanted and what was going to happen. It felt like a real relationship between adults. Ranger and Delilah were made for each other. I felt the chemistry between them, and I felt their bond grow stronger. Even when things were hard, they were there for each other. To each other, they became the person they wanted to turn to.

I can’t wait to read more of this series!
