Not My Mother

By: Miranda Smith

“Friends tell each other everything. Better friends know when to stay quiet.”

Marion is having a birthday party for her daughter, turning 1.  At the party, the police arrive and arrest her mother, Eileen.  But they call her by a different name, Sarah.  Marion is shocked, her mother’s name is Eileen!  Then Marion is told about Baby Caroline – a baby that was stolen when she was three months old.  Her mother was injured, and her father deceased. The police think that Marion is baby Caroline, and that Eileen is the woman who stole her.  Has Marion’s whole life been a lie?  Can she trust Eileen?  Is she baby Caroline?

This is another out of the ballpark hit for Smith!  I know I’m late to the game, but this author has me, and I will be reading her entire catalog of books.  This is yet another fast-paced novel, with short, action-packed chapters. I had my suspicions in this book, and some of them were right and some were wrong.  I can’t say more than that without giving anything away.  The plot was smart, and well-conceived with well thought out twists and turns.  One of the things that I love about Smith’s writing is that while this is a thriller, there are some really great heartfelt moments in the book between some of the characters.  Be prepared to see more reviews from me for Miranda Smith books.  If you haven’t read any of them yet, please go do so.  I promise you’ll enjoy it!  Oh, and this is on Kindle Unlimited!
