Mia is Franny’s teacher for the summer. Usually, Mia’s dad Jameson Knight, picks her up everyday at the same time. But not today. Today, there is danger and Mia and Frannie need to hide. After it’s over, Mia is drugged and taken back to Jameson’s. Jameson is powerful, and dangerous. As each day goes by, Mia is taken with him. She has no idea what he does, who he is. Mia as seeped her way into Jameson’s world, and now he will stop at nothing to protect her.
I very recently learned that I really enjoy mafia romance and dark mafia romance. So when I saw this book on Instagram, I HAD to read it. Whew, it gave me absolutely everything that I wanted. I got the darkness, the possessiveness, the protectiveness, the obsession – and I was here for ALL of it.
Jameson starts off as dark and mysterious. Little by little we get to see more of him, especially when he is with his daughter and Mia. We learn what he does and who he is, so the darkness never really goes away, expect for when he is with Mia and his daughter. Which, I absolutely love that he’s softer with his daughter.
There is a LOT of tension in this book. It really is palpable throughout the book. And of course there are secrets that get revealed. There was one moment in the book that my heart stopped. I mean, I was all in for Jameson and Mia!
