It’s been 4 years since Avery Bennett has seen her high school boyfriend, Jax. He broke up with her when he went away to school. She was hurt and very angry. But she moved on, or at least that’s what she claimed. She’s now got her own business and is happy with her life. What she wasn’t ready for was for Jax to come back, and stay. Jax knows that he made a mistake 4 years ago, and now he’s determined to get her back.
This is a very sweet romance. I always love a friends to lovers book and second chance romance book because we get the romantic history and/or the build up of the friendship, which makes the chemistry between the two characters feel that much stronger.
I know 4 years doesn’t sound like a lot of time, but a lot can change in 4 years so the fact that both of them remembered things about each other but still wanted to learn about who they were now was really sweet. In fact, Jax was just really sweet all around.
Avery was a great character too. She is independent and has her own goals in life. She’s worked hard and really, I wanted the best for her. Jax was perfect for her. I absolutely felt the pull between the two.
This is a great cozy fall read!
