Unmasking Love

By: Erin Marie Bassett

“Well, I just can’t image a guy ever choosing to leave you.”

Aiden Youngren is the backup goalie for the D.C. Renegades. He’s been on so many teams, he fully expects to be traded. So he doesn’t every put down roots anywhere. Team Captain Felix Fornier has put down roots, and bought his house from a luxury real estate agent, Harper Daniels. When Aiden joins the team, he refers Aiden to Harper. After ignoring her emails, they meet by chance. She’s determined to sell him a house. At on particular showing, Aiden is a witness to her breakup. They may have been friends for a bit, but it’s not before long that things heat up between the two. Harper is known for relationships not lasting longer than 4 months. Will these two make it?

This book is hilarious at times. I mean laugh out loud funny. There are group messages between the players on the hockey team and they had me laughing out loud. There’s also a scene where Harper yells insults, but they are the FUNNIEST insults I’ve ever read. And the fact that Aiden gives her an additional insult? Even better!!!

This book is told in dual point of view, which is my favorite when it come to romantic comedies. I fully understand where Harper is coming from in her feelings about relationships, and I understand where Aiden is coming from when it comes to putting down roots. It’s so easy to understand the characters when you read from their point of view.

I REALLY loved the guys on team. Not only were they funny, but they were like a found family for Aiden. He thought they didn’t notice things about him, but they did, and it was really sweet.

There was definitely chemistry between Aiden and Harper. I loved them together. They were a sizzling couple but also a really sweet one. It was easy to root for them to be together.

I can’t wait to read more in this series!
